Crash On Cape Foulweather

On 1/9/20 at approximately 1PM a northbound pickup pulling a 22 foot RV trailer crashed near milepost 130 at the north end of Cape Foulwearher. Evidence at the scene indicates the trailer began "fishtailing" on the downslope of Cape Foulweather when the driver lost control of the truck, the trailer sideswiped the northbound guardrail and overturned. The pickup overturned while still connected to the trailer and the units rotated and slid on the passenger side. The truck and the trailer slid through the southbound lanes and collided with the southbound guardrail. the driver, identified as 65-year old Curtis B. Basham was not injured but he was cited for failure to drive with a lane. Depoe Bay Fire, ODOT and Lincoln County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
