Depoe Bay Crash Leads To DUII Citation

On 8/21/20 at approximately 5PM state police trooper Severson responded to a two vehicle crash at milepost on Highway 101 in Depoe Bay. Investigation showed the driver of a black Inifiniti turned left in front of an oncoming northbound Ford van, driven by 50-year old Donald L. Stransky of Salem. The van collided with the infiniti. The three occupants of the Infiniti were not injured. The driver of the van Stransky was transported to the hospital by ambulance but did not get admitted to the emergency room for unknown reasons.

The driver's identity was learned while I was enroute to the hospital to follow up. Stransky it was found was driving while suspended felony and showed numerous signs of impairment. He was located and taken into custody but refused to perform field sobriety tests and refused to provide a breath sample. Blood draw warrant was signed by a judge and blood draw was performed by Pac West paramedics. Lincoln County Sheriff's Office and Depoe Bay Fire assisted at the scene of the crash. Stransky was cited and released for felony DWS and DUII alcohol. Lincoln County Jail refused lodging due to Covid19 pandemic.
