Driver Found With Meth After Crash

On 10/19/20 at approximately 6:38 pm State Police Trooper Wertz was dispatched to a single vehicle, rollover crash which occurred on hwy 34 near mile post 23. According to a witness statement, a red Jeep SUV was westbound and exiting a curve when it drove into the opposing lane before over-correcting and crashing into an earthen embankment on the westbound shoulder. The Jeep flipped end-over-end and came to an uncontrolled rest blocking the westbound lane.

During a crash interview the driver, identified as 45-year old William K. Scoville exhibited numerous signs of impairment. Scoville and his passenger were transported to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis for treatment. A hospital toxicology panel rendered a presumptive positive result for presence of methamphetamine in Scoville's urine. A warrant was granted and executed to seize blood and urine evidence from the driver. Scoville was arrested.
