On January 12th State Police Trooper Gray responded to a report of a single car injury crash that occurred at approximately 6:36 PM off Highway 101 west of the light in Waldport. Investigation showed the driver of a silver Hyundai Tuscon, 39-year old Stephanie M. Hall of Waldport drove the car over a sea wall crashing onto the beach below. She was transported to Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital in Newport for evaluation. The car sustained heavy damage and was towed by Rowleys Towing. Further investigation led to her being booked into the Lincoln County Jail on charges of DUII and reckless driving. She was also issued citations for failing to drive within lane and for having an open container of alcohol.
