Memorial Field Fire Suspect Arrested

On March 12, 2024 at 3:35am Toledo Police Department and the Toledo Fire Department responded to a structure fire involving the porta-potty and restroom building at Memorial Field. When units arrived they saw the bathrooms at Memorial Field were fully engulfed in flames. Toledo fire crews were able to safely extinguish the fire and Toledo police started an investigation into who caused of the fire.

Over the course of the investigation, multiple sources and video footage led to the identification of the suspect as 43-year old Zachary Casas. On 3/18/2024, Toledo Police Department charged Casas with Reckless Burning, Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, and Arson 2nd Degree. Casas was already in custody at the Lincoln County Jail on unrelated charges. Toledo Police thanked the members of our community for the assistance provided throughout the investigation.
