OSP Requesting Public's Assistance with the Killing and Waste of Black Bear in Waldport


 
The Oregon State Police (OSP) Fish and Wildlife Division is asking for the public's help locating the person(s) responsible for the unlawful killing and waste of a black bear in Lincoln County.

On Saturday, December 14, 2019, a Newport OSP Fish and Wildlife Trooper discovered a deceased black bear sow. The black bear was located off of Forest Service Road 5360 south of Eckman Lake in Waldport.

The black bear was killed within the past two weeks and left to waste with no meat removed from the carcass.

OSP is asking anyone who was in the area or anyone who may have information on the suspect(s) to call the TIP line at 1-800-452-7888 or dial *OSP and refer information to Trooper Andrew Butler or by email TIP@state.or.us.
