Two Cited For Crabbing Violations

Two Fish & Wildlife Troopers contacted two subjects crabbing on the Yaquina Bay Pier in Newport during an evening crab patrol. Upon inspection the subjects were found to be in possession of 93 Red Rock Crab and 49 Dungeness Crab. 33 of the Dungeness crab were undersized and 14 were female. Both subjects identified as 38-year old Pasilio Elken from Vancouver Washington and 33-year old Orlin Otoshy Omwere of Salem were cited and released for Take/Possession of Female Dungeness Crab, Take/Possession of Undersized Dungeness crab, and Exceeding Daily Bag Limit Dungeness Crab. 45 Red Rock Crab and 47 Dungeness Crab were seized and returned back to the bay. Orlin Omwere was also found to have an active arrest warrant out of Clackamas County Circuit Court. She was cited and released for the warrant and given a court date and time to appear in Clackamas County.
