Sunday night around 6pm State Police Trooper Wertz was dispatched to a two car crash with injuries which occurred on US 20, 4 miles east of Eddyville. Investigation showed the driver of a white Mazda SUV driven by 23-year old Danica Voight of Corvallis was eastbound and weaving into the opposing lane.
The driver of a blue Toyota RAV4 approached traveling westbound. The driver of the Toyota swerved into the eastbound lane to avoid a head on collision just before the Mazda returned to her own lane of travel and struck the Toyota on the front passenger side.
The driver of the Mazda was transported by ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis for complaints of pain. During an interview Voight exhibited numerous signs of impairment and reportedly admitted to drinking earlier at the Seafood and Wine Festival.
She consented to and performed poorly on the safety field sobriety tests and was taken into custody and transported to Lincoln County Jail where she consented to a breath test rendering a result of .09 Blood Alcohol Content.
Voight was lodged on charges of DUII - Alcohol, Reckless Driving, Criminal Mischief II and two counts of Recklessly Endangering a Person. The highway was shut down during the crash investigation.
