On September 1st at approximately 4:39 pm State Police Trooper Wertz was dispatched to the report of a Kia Sport stuck in a ditch and partially blocking the southbound lane of Hwy 101 near Schooner Landing. Upon arrival he located and identified the driver of the car, identified as 57-year old Samuel Irvin who reportedly admitted to recently drinking alcohol and exhibited numerous signs of impairment.
Mr. Irvin consented to a partial battery of Safety Field Sobriety Tests and performed poorly. He was taken into custody and transported to Lincoln County Jail where he consented to a breath test rendering a result of .28 Blood Alcohol Content, over three times the legal limit. Irvin was lodged in Lincoln County Jail on charges of DUII- Alcohol and Reckless Driving. The vehicle was towed form the scene by Coast Towing.
