Lincoln City Police Response To Corvid-19

In order to help reduce the possibility of compromising our public and our staff during the current COVID-19 outbreak, Lincoln City Police will be implementing the following procedures until the emergency no longer exists. LCPD requests anyone needing administrative services such as records requests, sex offender registration, vehicle impound releases, and property release, etc. to call 541-994-3636 first and make an appointment. This will allow staff to determine if a face to face contact is necessary. If a face to face appointment is made we can minimize contact time by having paperwork processed prior to customer’s arrival.

Appointments for face to face administrative service will only be accepted between 8:00 AM and 3:30 PM Monday through Friday. Records requests should be made by telephone by calling 541-994-3636. Records requests will be processed Mon – Fri during administrative staff business hours of 8:00AM to 3:30PM. Property Releases will be by appointment only.

Until the state of emergency is lifted: No fingerprinting for personal or business requests will be done;No ride-along requests will be approved; No public tours of LCPD building and operations will be conducted.

We want to emphasize to our citizens to please call our non-emergency line 541-994-3636 BEFORE coming to the office for administrative services or to make initial reports of low level, non-life threatening complaints such as thefts or property damage, etc.The 911 Dispatch Center remains fully operational. Police patrols will continue to provide normal public safety operations, however low level, non-life threatening calls for service will be initiated by a telephone contact from an assigned officer.

This process will limit face to face exposure for both the complainant and the officers. Officers will take initial reports on these low level complaints and determine what follow up investigation is needed. We appreciate the cooperation of our citizens to help prevent exposure to or spread of illnesses during this time. We strongly urge everyone to adhere to the directions coming from our government authorities to minimize the spread of disease.
