Missing Seal Rock Man Located

On 12/23/2023, Bonita Boldt reported waking up at about 3:40 am to find that Alvin Boldt, her husband, and their vehicle were missing from their Seal Rock area home. Mrs. Boldt also reported that Mr. Boldt has been experiencing age-related mental health symptoms leading him to obsess over garbage, potentially driving him to go to the dump in Waldport. Mrs. Boldt reported last seeing Mr. Boldt at approximately 11:00 pm the night before.

A Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to Mrs. Boldt’s call for service, sending information on Mr. Boldt and his vehicle to the Oregon State Police, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, and the Benton County Sheriff’s Office to be on the lookout. Additionally, information was sent to Central Oregon Coast Fire & Rescue and Pacific West Ambulance to assist in attempts to locate Mr. Boldt in the area. More than two hours of searching, with additional assistance from Mr. Boldt’s son, were unsuccessful. Mr. Boldt was entered into nationwide databases as a missing person.

Later in the morning at about 8:30 am, Mr. Boldt’s son reported finding his vehicle crashed down a hill a short distance from his residence. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded with the Seal Rock Fire District, Central Oregon Coast Fire & Rescue, and Pacific West Ambulance to retrieve Mr. Boldt from his vehicle. Mr. Boldt was transported to Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital for minor injuries and hypothermia.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is grateful to Law Enforcement and Fire/EMS partners for their assistance in locating and caring for Mr. Boldt. If you or someone you know may be developing age-related mental health conditions, contact Lincoln County Behavioral Health at 541-265-4196, or in the event of an emergency contact 9-1-1 for help.
