Truck Crashes Into Lincoln City Fire Station


On July 30th at about 6:15pm Lincoln City police responded to a report of a two car crash off Hwy 101. According to Sgt. Jeff Winn, A grey pickup made a left turn in front of a black Lexus causing the truck to hit the car. The SUV went through the construction fencing at the Bob Everest Fire Station, that is currently being remodeled for seismic upgrades.


After crashing through the fence the SUV hit the sign and then struck the flagpole knocking it down. The driver of the truck, identified as 39-year old Benjamin Freilinger of Otis was transported to Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital after complaints of pain. The driver and passenger of the SUV, reported no injuries. Mr. Freilinger was cited for making a dangerous left turn and careless driving.
