Work Gets Underway On Highway 229 Landslide
ODOT is beginning the next phase of work responding to the massive landslide that closed OR 229 between mileposts 14.2 and 15.1 in December 2025. In the coming weeks, travelers and nearby residents may see heavy equipment working in and around the slide area as crews prepare for subsurface investigations. After a brief period with all of our deployed firefighters back home, Lincoln County has once again been called upon to assist Oregonians battling wildfires around the state. The Lincoln County Fire Defense Board has fulfilled requests for two separate Task Forces, which are deploying to two different wildfire incidents in Oregon.
