Lincoln City is a city that embraces its love for the ocean with a vibrant personality and a penchant for the nautical and unconventional. It immerses itself in the joy of kite festivals, glass blowing, saltwater taffy, and music festivals.

The city was formed by the merger of five communities along a distinctive stretch of beach, resulting in a diverse and captivating array of locales, each offering its own hidden treasures. As an artistic enclave on the Oregon Coast, Lincoln City hosts world-class kite festivals during the summer, attracting thousands of visitors. Local artisans skilled in glass

blowing create unique and colorful glass floats, which are then cleverly hidden along the shoreline by "float fairies" for beachcombers to discover. These floats are designed to evoke the charm of old glass net floats that once washed up on Oregon beaches after being carried across the ocean currents from Japan.

Amidst the breathtaking coastal forests of Oregon, Lincoln City also offers several nearby hiking trails that are truly awe-inspiring. One notable hike leads to Drift Creek Falls, where a 100-foot high suspension bridge spans over a magnificent 75-foot waterfall, with Drift Creek flowing below. Another trail at Cascade Head provides wide-open paths that lead to panoramic views of Lincoln City's coastline, Devil's Lake, and Cape Foulweather. Devil's Lake and Siletz Bay offer expansive areas of sheltered, open water for fishing, water sports, and swimming, despite old folk tales hinting at the presence of a sea monster in the lake.

Lincoln City truly captivates visitors with a range of annual events and festivals that showcase its charm and character. These include the Summer Kite Festival, the Fall Kite Festival, the Festival of Illusions, the Sandcastle Contest, and the Great Oregon Coast Garage Sale, among others1. Additionally, the city offers an abundance of activities to indulge in, such as exploring beautiful beaches, enjoying water sports in Devils Lake, hiking scenic trails like Cascade Head, engaging in glass art experiences, shopping at Lincoln City Outlets, and savoring the diverse culinary scene.

With its idyllic location on the Oregon Coast and its array of attractions and activities, Lincoln City is an ideal destination for those seeking adventure, natural beauty, and artistic inspiration. Discover the treasures that await you in this lively coastal city and create unforgettable memories along its seven miles of blissful beaches.
