On 2/1/21 at approximately 4:55 pm State Police Trooper Wertz was dispatched to a driving complaint of a silver Dodge Caravan southbound on Hwy 101 near milepost 132, driving slowly and failing to drive within its lane. I located and stopped the vehicle near Otter Crest loop. Upon contact the driver, identified as 70-year old Margaret E. Tackett of Newport reportedly exhibited numerous signs of impairment and smelled strongly of alcohol.

She was uncooperative with an investigation and refused to perform Safety Field Sobriety Test's or provide any physical cooperation. She was taken into custody for DUII and transported to Lincoln County Jail where she refused to provide a breath sample. A warrant was applied for and obtained to seize blood and urine samples. Tackett was cited and released on charges of DUII and Reckless Driving.
