Become A Charter Member Of Lincoln City Elks Lodge No. 1886

Lincoln City Elks Lodge No. 1886 will be instituted on May 11, 2019 – and there’s still time to for you to become a charter member of this respected fraternal organization.

“For more than 150 years, the Elks have had a history of helping make their communities a better place to live,” said H.E. “Topper” Gamester. “There are more than 1,800 lodges throughout the United States, and many of these lodges have been in existence for many years. So, this is a rare opportunity to become a founding member of a new lodge.”

Mr. Gamester is chair of the organization committee that is spearheading the effort to reopen a local Elks lodge, after the closure of the Oceanlake Elks Lodge about five years ago. Mr. Gamester said anyone over the age of 21 is welcome to join the non-political and non-secular organization. While social activity is a large part of being an Elk, even more important is showing compassion for others through a variety of programs aimed at helping children grow up healthy and drug-free, meeting the needs of today’s veterans, and improving the quality of life for everyone.

The new Lincoln City lodge has gone through all the formal procedures to gain approval from the Grand Lodge of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, including securing a potential location for the new lodge.

The formal institution ceremony is planned for Saturday, May 11, at 1 p.m. at Chinook’s Seafood Grill. National and state Elk officials will participate in this semi-formal event. The institution ceremony will be followed by the initiation of candidates for membership, and the election and installation of officers.
