Coastbusters Walk Returns

The CoastBusters Walk for Breast Cancer, presented by Next Home Picket Fence

Realty, returns for the third year on Saturday, September 30 in Newport. To kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, this three-mile walk at Newport High School is the outcome of two local ladies’ desire to inspire hope for other women and their families struggling with breast cancer.

Recent breast cancer survivors themselves, Sonia Graham and Jeanette Campagna decided to make a difference in the lives of women and others in their own community battling breast

cancer and to give back to the community and medical teams that supported them. They

adopted the motto that something good can certainly come from something bad - and started

the first annual walk in 2021. Last year’s walk attracted nearly 200 participants and proceeds of more than $30,000 for local women battling breast cancer.

Proceeds raised from the event will stay local and benefit Pacific Communities Health District

Foundation Women’s Cancer Fund. This Foundation provides a wide array of support that aids

breast cancer patients with many facets of their cancer treatment. It’s an opportunity to

proudly raise awareness in the community and offer hope, strength, and courage to all women

who have been affected by breast cancer.

Registration fee includes a CoastBusters Walk t-shirt, pink ribbon pin, swag bag, event

festivities, and the power in knowing that women and their families fighting breast cancer will

benefit significantly. Attendees are encouraged to create a team and dress up in their favorite pink attire on Walk Day. The event will be held rain or shine, and walkers are also encouraged to bring their own water bottle and cash for extras: message ribbons, photo booth, and extra t-shirts. Fun contests and a raffle will also be held.

Early bird registration is $25 through August 31 and guarantees a t-shirt, pink ribbon pin, and

swag bag. Registration from September 1 – 24 is $35, and onsite registration on September 30 is $45. For those who raise $150 or more, their name will be publicly placed on the CoastBusters Honor Roll. The top three individual fundraisers will win prizes. An additional CoastBusters Walk will also be held for the first time in Florence, on October 7 th .
