The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners at their last meeting discussed continuing with the temporary assignment of administrative duties to board chair Claire Hall due to the absence of a County Administrator. The county is currently accepting applications for a county administrator. Hall said she has been overseeing tasks normally done by the administrator and choosing staff to lead projects like the commons construction and the animal shelter project. Hall said what she has been doing over the past couple of months is signing travel vouchers and doing what is necessary to keep the lights on.
Commissioner Miller asked if the duties could be divided among all the commissioners and suggested the department heads could let them know who they were comfortable having as their commissioner liaison. Commissioner Chuck made the motion to have Commissioner Hall continue in the liaison commissioner position until July 15th when the county hopes to have a new administrator hired. The motion was seconded by Hall and passed two to 1 with Commissioner Miller opposed.
There was also discussion of board and committee assignments. Each commissioner was asked to provide the administrative assistant with a list of the committees and boards they would like to serve on. Each Commissioner had a list of committees and boards that they would like to be part of. The majority were divided between Miller and Chuck as Hall is overseeing county staff. Commissioner Hall suggested that the two commissioners give their list to Geneva, the administrative assistant so it could be considered.
