On 4/10/21 at approximately 6AM an eastbound silver Volkswagen Jetta drove through the westbound lane, crashed through a guardrail, rolled, and came to rest on its top near milepost 2 of Highway 18 in Otis. The driver identified as 19-year old Miguel Montiel-Ocampo reported no injuries and reported that he was driving too fast when he lost control of the car. He was issued citations for violation of speed, driving uninsured and driving with no valid license. ODOT assisted at the scene. Approximately 25 feet of guardrail was destroyed.
