Lincoln County has opened Barbara S. and Walter F. Brown Memorial Park and Campground on the Siletz River with over 3,500 feet of river frontage. The property is a reforested homestead farm and is on a 62 acre parcel located along State Hwy 229, at mile marker 13.6. Brown Memorial park is located adjacent to Strome Park and boat ramps. Brown Memorial Park Campground is in a clearing of about 3.5 acres. There are 19 campsites each with a picnic table, fireplace/barbeque pit. The campground is the first of the many improvements to come. Fishing for Chinook and Steelhead on this section of the Siletz River is popular. Kayaking, drifting, and swimming are popular summertime activities.
Planned improvements include; water system, flush restrooms, septic system, additional campsites, camping cabins, and trail improvements. Currently the campground has no running water and is serviced by portable chemical toilets. The Parks Department opened single use camping sites on July 30, 2020 at Barbara S and Walter F. Brown Memorial Park. All campsites will be on a first come basis.We do not take reservations for these sites. All campsites will be limited to 10 people or less, 4 tents or less, 1 RV and 2 additional vehicles (total 3 vehicles). All Day Uses will be limited to no more people than 10 people in a group. A limited number of sites may be open in campground, the areas where campsites are in close proximity of each other, some sites will be closed. Day Use of campsites will not be allowed.
The use of PPE and Social Distancing is highly encouraged. Signs of fever, cough, and difficult breathing or if you suspect you may be sick with these symptoms: Stay Home.
Check in / Check out:
The check in process is a self-service process, for cash or check. Credit Cards are not accepted at Barbara S and Walter F. Brown Memorial Park. Campers will select their own site, fill out an envelope, insert payment and drop in payment box. The top portion of the envelop is placed in the windshield of the registered vehicle, where it can be seen by park staff. There is no paperwork for check out.

There is a trail that lead to Strome Park and continues along the river and through the woods back to the campground. Currently the campground has no running water and is serviced by portable chemical toilets. Fishing for Chinook and Steelhead on this section of the Siletz River is popular. Kayaking, drifting, and swimming are popular summertime activities.

Camping Rates: $15 / Campsite.(Limit of 1 RV per site.) 7 / Extra Vehicle.(Limit of 2 extra vehicles.)No RV Hookups Available. (dry camping) 10 day stay limit. Limit of 4 tents per site All individual campsites are first-come, first-served. No reservations are available for individual campsites. No RV Hookups available. Visit the campground in person to determine availability. A volunteer camp host is on site April 1st to October 15th.
Day Use:
Day use access is through Strome Park, there is no day use fees for Strome Park.
Siletz River Boating Regulations
Boats with motors, gas or electric, are allowed on the entire river. Use of jet pump motors prohibited above Jack Morgan Park boat ramp An approved personal flotation device must be carried for each person. It is highly recommended that a life jacket worn.
