On July 30th, 2021 at approximately 9:43 AM the Toledo Police Department received a call from Dahl’s Disposal, at 5441 Highway 20, stating that employees located a deceased male while sorting through refuse. When Officer’s arrived on scene they located the body of an adult male in the refuse pile with apparent injuries. The Lincoln County Major Crime Team (consisting of members of the Toledo Police Department, Newport Police Department, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Lincoln City Police Department, Lincoln County District Attorney’s Office and the Lincoln County Medical Examiner’s Office) was activated to assist in the investigation.
Investigators were able to determine the refuse that the deceased male was located in was transported to Toledo at approximately 8:00 AM on July 30th, 2021 from a Eugene area waste management center via a 54’ transportation trailer to be processed as part of the JUNO project. Investigators were eventually able to identify the deceased male as Royal Pierre Borsh, age 63, of Cloverdale. through finger print analysis. An autopsy was conducted on Mr. Borsh’s body on July 31st, 2021. The circumstances surrounding Mr. Borsh’s death are ongoing with the assistance of Investigators from the Eugene Police Department, Springfield Police Department, Lane County Sheriff’s Office and the Oregon State Police-Springfield Office.
