The Newport Parks and Recreation Department is announcing several upcoming changes to their daily operating hours for the Recreation and Aquatic Center. The Recreation and Aquatic Center will close to public use May 6, 2024 to May 8, 2024 for major maintenance repairs. Both facilities will reopen for public on May 9, 2024.
We are excited to share that starting that same week, on May 9, 2024, the Newport
Recreation & Aquatic Center will open on Sundays and open an hour earlier and close an
hour later Tuesday to Saturday. The expansion of hours will be the department’s first since
re-opening after the COVID-19 Pandemic. The department is hopeful to reopen on
Mondays in the near future.
The new expanded hours for both facilities will be:
• Newport Recreation Center: Tuesday to Friday 6:00 AM – 9:00 PM; Saturday 7:00
AM – 7:00 PM; Sunday 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM; Monday closed
• Newport Aquatic Center: Monday to Friday 6:00 AM – 8:00 PM; Saturday 7:00 AM –
