Due to the recent increase of positive cases of COVID-19, Chinook Winds Casino Executive team announced a tentative two-week closure of Chinook Winds Casino and Golf operations. This closure started Tuesday, December 1 at 4pm. Chinook Winds Hotel will closed at 10am, Wednesday, December 2 to allow guests to check out. All hotel reservations will be automatically cancelled through this closure.
“The safety of our team members and guests are our top priority. Team members will be paid through the tentative two-week closure. We look forward to announcing our reopening”, said General Manager Michael S. Fisher. Chinook Winds will be using this time deep clean and sanitize the property. We will continue to monitor developments and the advice of local, national and world health organizations.
While open over the past few months, Chinook Winds Casino has required temperature checks, required face coverings and social distance lounge plus they have been a non smoking property since re-opening in May. During the fires in September the crew at Chinook Winds worked with the city, and the Red Cross to help those in need with housing.
They have also continued helping the community. For Thanksgiving they gave over 300 meals to Taft High School for families in need. According to Heather Hatton, they are doing their best to put something together for a drive through pick up option for Christmas Dinners as well, however those details have not been released. Hatton said "It is really important for our community and businesses to support each other during this time."
