On 9/17/19 at approximately 12PM the driver of a White Toyota slowed for a separate crash near milepost 4 of US Highway 20. The driver of a gray Nissan was unable to stop and collided with the rear end of the Toyota. The driver and passenger of the Toyota reported no injuries but a visible mark was observed on the driver's forehead. An infant passenger was securely fastened in a car seat in the Toyota. The driver of the Nissan reported she was going to the hospital for evaluation.
The same afternoon at approximately 1:47 PM, a two-vehicle rear-end crash occurred on US-20 at King Place. The driver of a silver Caravan was stopped for a dog in the road when a westbound red Civic could not stop in time and collided with the rear of the Caravan. The driver of the Civic was transported by PACWEST Ambulance to SPCH in Newport with minor injury. The driver of the Caravan was cited for Following too closely.
Hwy 20 was down to one lane for several hours and wasn't completely re-opened until after 8pm.
