On the evening of March 9, 2020, the Oregon State Police responded to a four vehicle traffic crash blocking Hwy 101 near Salishan. The crash investigation found a red Chevrolet sedan, a black Toyota SUV, and a silver Ford truck were stopped as there was a delivery truck in front the Chevy preparing to turn left onto an intersecting roadway. The fourth car a black Dodge truck, driven by 42-year old Fallas, W. Angulo of Salem failed to stop in time and crashed into the rear of the Ford truck creating a chain reaction with the other two cars. When contacted Angulo displayed signs of impairment and consented to and performed poorly on standardized field sobriety tests. He was placed in custody for DUII and transported to the Lincoln County Jail where he provided a breath sample revealing a blood alcohol content of 0.08%. He was cited in lieu of custody.
