State Police Trooper Kolacz stopped the driver of a Honda Accord for a moving violation on Hwy 18. During contact the driver he provided false information about himself, was not carrying a driver’s license, and had three active warrants for his arrest when he provided the false information. The driver, identified as 35-year old Charles J Cupell was arrested and transported to the Lincoln County Jail where he was lodged on the three warrants (two out of Lincoln County and one out of Clackamas County) and three new crimes. He was issued a violation citation for having less than 2 grams of methamphetamines, for driving on a suspended license, and driving without insurance.
On 07/04/22, state police trooper Randall stopped a motorcycle for a traffic violation. The rider of the motorcycle, 35-year old Zachary A Gutierrez pf Albany had a criminally suspended license and the motorcycle returned stolen out of Portland. Gutierrez into custody and lodged at the Lincoln County Jail. He was charged with driving while suspended, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and possession of a stolen vehicle.
State police trooper Kanbara stopped the driver of a Honda CRV for a traffic violation on US-101 near Agate Beach. After an investigation the driver, identified as 81-year old John S. Luques was arrested for DUII. He was taken to the Lincoln County Jail and provided a breath sample showing he had a blood alcohol content of .09. He was given a courtesy transport to their residence where they were cited and released for DUII.
