Driver Cited For No License And Uninsured After Crash


On 2/3/2023 State Police responded to a rear end collision. A school bus was westbound on Hwy 18 near MP 3.6 and was stopped ahead and the first vehicle, a black VW sedan, which came to a stop. The second vehicle, a blue Ford Focus driven by 38-year old Donald A. Yates of Sheridan failed to stop and collided with the rear of the VW sedan. The driver of the VW complained of neck and back pain, and was transported to Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital. Mr. Yates stated he was uninjured and remained on scene. He was cited for Driving While Suspended, No Insurance and Following Too Closely.


On 1-30-2023 at approximately 3:14 PM a Silver Dodge Stratus was stopped for failing to

properly use safety belts on highway 101 in Waldport. The driver, identified as 29-year old Breann M. Vercauteren of Alsea was found to have warrants and was driving uninsured. The

driver She was arrested and lodged in Lincoln County Jail and the car was towed.


On 1-31-2023 at approximately 12:04 PM a black Honda Accord was stopped on highway 101 in Lincoln City for failure to obey a traffic light. The driver. identified as a male juvenile from Lincoln City did not have an operator’s license and was uninsured. He was cited for Fail to obey a Traffic Control Device, No Operator’s License, and Driving Uninsured. The vehicle was towed by Menefee Towing.


On 2-1-2023 at approximately 2:00 PM a blue Chrysler PT Cruiser was stopped for failure to

properly use safety belts on highway 101 in Newport. The driver, identified as 38-year old Justin L. Caldwell of Spokane Washington was found to be driving while suspended, driving uninsured, and failure of previous violator to file. The vehicle was towed by Rowley’s Towing.
