On 7/10/19 at approximately 3:18 am State Police Trooper Wertz was dispatched to a single vehicle roll over crash with injury which occurred on hwy 34 near mile post 10. Investigation showed the driver of a red Toyota Tacoma, identified as 64-year old Severt Edwin Strom of Waldport was westbound and coming out of a corner in wet roads conditions when the Toyota lost traction. Strom over corrected and drove off the westbound shoulder and crashed head on into an earthen embankment. The Truck rolled until it came to an uncontrolled rest on its passenger side blocking east and west bound lanes. Strom was injured but refused medical transport. He was cited for Violation of the Basic Speed Rule.
