DUII Arrests


On 10/7/21 at approximately 10:30PM State Police Trooper Severson stopped a vehicle for a speeding violation on hwy 101 north of Newport. Upon contact with the driver, identified as 36-year old Terry J. Brocha-Vila of Newport who exhibited signs of impairment. His driving status was driving while suspended Felony. Brocha-Vila consented to perform field sobriety tests and displayed numerous signs of impairment and was taken into custody. A search of his vehicle yielded small amount of substances consistent with methamphetamine and marijuana. He provided a urine sample and was cited and released for driving while suspended Felony and DUI Controlled Substance.


On 10/9/21 at approximately 3:42 am State Police Trooper Wertz was dispatched to a single vehicle rollover crash which occurred on Hwy 20 just west on the intersection of Elk City Rd. Investigation showed a tan GMC Jimmy, was eastbound on hwy 20 and negotiating back to back curves in wet road conditions when the driver reported he swerved to miss a deer crossing the highway and drove off the eastbound shoulder. The GMC rolled over and came to an uncontrolled rest upside down in Simpson Creek. The driver, identified as 26-year old Jacob Earl-Victor Martin was able to extricate himself from the vehicle and remained on scene. During the crash investigation the Trooper Wertz noticed that he exhibited signs of impairment and consented to perform the safety field sobriety test's. He performed poorly and was taken into custody for DUII. Martin consented to a breath test rendering a result of .14 blood alcohol content. He was cited and released for DUII and Reckless Driving.


On 10/10/21 at approximately 2:33 am State Police Trooper Wertz was dispatched to a single vehicle crash which occurred on hwy 20 near mile post 11. The driver of a blue Toyota Camry was eastbound on hwy 20 in rainy conditions when, for an unknown reason, the car drove off the eastbound shoulder and struck the highway guardrail. The car came to an uncontrolled rest in the center of the highway blocking east and westbound lanes. The female driver, identified as 27-year old Angelicha M. Ryckman of Toledo exhibited numerous signs of impairment and reportedly admitted to recently drinking alcohol. She consented to and performed poorly on safety field sobriety test's and was taken into custody for DUII. She was transported to Lincoln County Jail where she consented to a breath test rendering a result of .17 blood alcohol content, over twice the legal limit. She was cited and released for DUII, Reckless Driving and Criminal Mischief II.
