DUII Citations


On June 6th State Police Trooper Nathman stopped the driver of a Toyota 4-Runner for failure to maintain the lane. The driver, identified as Kelly F. Dempsey of Neskowin reportedly admitted to smoking marijuana earlier in the night. She consented to performing field sobriety tests and performed poorly and was arrested for DUII. The 4-runner was moved off of the highway and secured on scene due to a dog being in the car. Dempsey was transported to Lincoln City Police Department where she provided a breath sample, urine sample, and then refused a drug recognition evaluation and was cited and released from Lincoln City Police Department for DUII cannabis.


On June 8th state police trooper Kolacz responded to a single vehicle crash on highway 20 and Cline Hill involving a white Subaru SUV which struck guardrail. The Subaru was westbound when it crossed the road and crashed into eastbound guardrail. During police contact with the involved driver, identified as 31-year old Casey D. Farris displayed indicators of impairment and was arrested for DUII and transported to the Lincoln Count Jail. A search warrant was granted and a breath test and blood test were completed. The breath test indicated a .19 blood alcohol content, over twice the legal limit. Farris was cited and released for DUII.


On June 8th state police trooper Nathman was on a traffic stop in Waldport when he observed two individuals leaving a bar and appeared heavily intoxicated. The individuals began to climb into their car, then elected to walk away from their car, as if to walk home. As the traffic stop was cleared, the two were seen walking back towards their car. After driving further down the highway, they turned onto a side street, then the car was observed leaving the parking lot and was stopped for making an illegal left turn. Upon further investigation the driver, identified as 29-year old Andrew K Schiffer was asked to consent to field sobriety tests. After he performed poorly he was subsequently arrested for DUII. Schiffer was transported to Lincoln County Jail where he provided a breath sample showing a .09% blood alcohol content. He was cited and released.


On June 10th at around 8:40 am Lincoln City Police officer Tolzman stopped the driver of a Nissan on hwy 101. During the traffic stop officer Tolzman noticed the driver,23-year old Mike L. Zacarias showed signs of impairment. After taking the safety field sobriety tests Zacarias was taken into custody and transported to the Lincoln City Police Department where he was cited and released for DUII.


On June 12th just after 3pm Lincoln City Police officer Tolzman stopped the driver of a Jeep Wrangler on Hwy 101 for a traffic violation. Officer Tolzman noticed the driver, 66-year old Timothy Beacham showed signs of impairment and conducted a safety field sobriety test. Afterward Beacham was arrested for DUII and transported to the Lincoln City Police Department.
