On Sunday afternoon, June 15, at approximately 3:15 p.m., North Lincoln Fire & Rescue
was dispatched to a reported structure fire on the 3200 block of Union Avenue in Lincoln
City. The first fire engine arrived on scene within approximately three minutes and found
an attached garage fully engulfed in flames, with fire actively spreading to the home.
Crews immediately initiated an aggressive fire attack to stop the spread and limit damage
to the residence. Responding firefighters encountered several hazards while working to
contain the blaze, including downed power lines and initial reports that someone might
still be inside the home. A search of the structure confirmed that all occupants were
accounted for and safe, allowing crews to fully focus on suppression efforts.
Depoe Bay Fire District responded with mutual aid to assist at the scene, while Grand
Ronde Emergency Services provided district coverage. A total of 20 fire personnel
responded with 3 command vehicles, 3 engines, 1 heavy rescue, 1 water tender, and 2
support rigs.
Lincoln City Police Department and Pacific West Ambulance also assisted
with scene safety and support. Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control within 35 minutes. Crews remained on scene until shortly after 6:00 p.m. to fully extinguish hot spots and begin the investigation into the cause of the fire, which remains undetermined at this time. No injuries were reported to residents or emergency personnel.
Public Safety Reminder:
North Lincoln Fire & Rescue would like to remind everyone of the serious dangers posed
by downed power lines. Always assume any downed line is live. Stay far away, do not
walk near or over the line, and keep others clear of the area. Call 911 to report it
immediately and wait for emergency responders and utility crews to secure the scene.
Your safety is our priority.
