Flood Advisories For The Alsea and Siletz


The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for the Alsea and the Siletz Rivers. Many creeks and small streams are at bankfull or spilling out of their banks. In addition, a number of landslides have been reported overnight. Please use caution when traveling. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots. There are also several power outages this morning as a result of the storm. Central Lincoln PUD has reported 42 power outages in Lincoln County affecting 20646 customers. Pacific Power reports several scattered outages due to the storm. It is important to have a emergency kit on hand in your home and in your car. Your kid should include water, one gallon per person per day; Non-perishable food (for family members and pets); Battery-powered radio and extra batteries; Flashlight and extra batteries;Blankets;First aid kit with essential medications; Manual can opener; Solar powered cell phone charger;Copies of important family documents; Cash and Special items for infants, elderly or disabled family members.
