National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Flood Watch for Lincoln County and most of Western Oregon. They have not named any specific rivers as of yet. If you live near, drive by or plan to recreate this weekend near rivers or estuaries it is a good to keep idea to monitor conditions for changes. If we do receive a flood warning for specific rivers we will follow up with additional notifications to those areas. New event. Flood Watch from 12/19/2020 4:00 PM to 12/20/2020 10:00 PM PST for Lincoln County, OR.

Excessive rainfall could lead to river flooding as well as flooding in small streams and urban areas. Rain across the Cascades could cause debris flows across burned areas. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop. Landslides and debris flows are possible during this flood event. People, structures, and roads located below steep slopes, in canyons, and near the mouths of canyons may be at serious risk from rapidly moving landslides.
