Come join Alex and Amanda Smith, owners of Southern Oregon Geocaching on Saturday, August 31st from 2-3:30 p.m. in the McEntee Meeting Room of the Newport Public Library. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the amazing world of Geocaching so you can start finding hidden treasures all around you!
Southern Oregon Geocaching provides outdoor educational services and recreational activities to promote environmental stewardship and strong community ties through Geocaching and fun! What is Geocaching you ask? Geocaching is a real-world treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices such as a smart phone. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location.
The Newport Library is kicking off celebrations of its 100th year during September.
