The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning for the coast today (11/15/21) from 10am to 2pm. South winds 40 to 50 mph with gusts up to 70 mph expected for the beaches and headlands. South winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected for the coastal communities including the North Coast and central coast including cities of Lincoln City, Depoe Bay, Cape Foulweather, Newport and south to Yachats. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and there is a chance power outages may result. Some damage can be expected from the high winds, especially to signs, tree limbs and power lines. Drive with extreme caution in the warning area and be prepared for flying debris.
