On July 11th, 2023, The Toledo Police Department received a report of vandalism at the Yaquina Pacific Railroad Historical Society (YPRHS). Museum Director Lisa Watson reported that someone had damaged the original gauge for the 1922 Baldwin Steam Locomotive Engine. The YPRHS celebrated the 1922 Baldwin Steam Locomotive 100 year anniversary by installing stairs so that the public can have access to this City of Toledo historical treasure. On July 26th, 2023, Officer Dean arrested a juvenile who admitted to vandalizing the 1922 Baldwin Steam Locomotive Engine.
Director Watson stated there will be a Rally Round One Spot work crew scheduled on July 29th, 2023 at 11 am at 100 NW A Street, Toledo to help clean and repair the YPRHS. Volunteers are needed to help repair gutters, roofs, and install cameras and lighting. Director Watson stated the museum is always looking for volunteers or donations.
