On March 12, 2024 at 9:27 PM, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 400 block of E. Logsden Rd in Siletz, OR on a report of a male stating his mother 79-year old Judy D. Poe was deceased. Deputies arrived in the area and located a deceased elderly female near a motor vehicle who had injuries consistent with homicidal violence. Deputies detained the adult male, now identified as 56-year old Robert B. Poe who made the report. Ms. Poe had sustained injuries from blunt force trauma to the head. Robert was subsequently interviewed and arrested for Murder in the Second Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
He was lodged at the Lincoln County Jail. The Lincoln County Major Crime Team was activated, as well as members from the Oregon State Police Crime Lab. The investigation is currently ongoing with assistance from the Oregon State Police, the Newport Police Department, and the Lincoln City Police Department. The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office thanked and acknowledge the attentive residents of Siletz who reported their observations of suspicious circumstances to law enforcement without delay.
