Initial Election Results May Primary

In the race for Governor it looks like it will be Republican Christine Drazen who currently has 47% of the vote who is going against Tina Kotek, who has over 84%. For US Representative 4th district it appears Val Hoyle is in the lead for democrats and Monique DeSpain is ahead for the republicans. For the US Senate race, Jeff Merkley is ahead for the democrats and for republican race Brock Smith is ahead right now with over 30%. All local measures appear to have passed at this time. The state gas tax measure that would increase fuel taxes, registration/title fees for roads, tax on wages for public transportation services did not pass.

In Lincoln County with 90% of the votes counted and over 41% of voter turnout in the County Commission position 1 race Cathie Rigby currently has the most votes with 3593 and incumbent Casey Miller has 2643. For position 2, which will fill former Commissioner Hall’s position Cristen Don currently has the most votes with 4941 and Joe D Steere has 2552. For position 3 Curtis Landers has 5550 and Walter Chuck has 5327. A candidate needs to receive over 50% of the vote to win; otherwise, the two with the most votes will run in November. Winning candidates will be sworn in in January of 2027 to begin their terms. The next update from the county clerk's office will be May 20th at 5pm.
