On 03/21/2020 at approximately 5:27 PM, the Oregon State Police received a report of a reckless driver in a Dodge Dakota heading northbound on US Highway 101 at Otter Crest. The car was located by OSP a short time later and the Dodge Dakota was observed failing to maintain its lane of travel. The driver, identified as 48-year old Brian J. Loving of Lincoln City was stopped for observed violations. During the contact, signs of impairment were observed and he consented to Saftety Field Sobriety Tests and did poorly. Mr. Loving was taken into custody for DUII and transported to the Lincoln City Police Department, while there he provided a breath sample showing his blood alcohol content to be 0.16 %, twice the legal limit. Loving was cited and released for DUII and Reckless Driving and dropped off at his residence. OSP was assisted during the investigation by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
