On April 2nd, 2020 at approximately 2:20 AM the Toledo Police Department began receiving 911 calls regarding a physical fight occurring at the Yaquina Bay Motel. Â When Officers arrived they located an adult male victim with significant head injuries. Â The Officers provided first-aid treatment until Toledo Fire and Pac-West medics arrived.
Through investigation it was determined the adult male victim had been struck in the head with a stick like object by a male who was later identified as Shallone Michael Sheets.  Officers learned Mr. Sheets was reportedly hiding at an unknown location within or around the motel.  Lincoln County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted the Toledo Police Officer in searching the area.  Officers eventually located Mr. Sheets and were able to take him into custody without incident.  Mr. Sheets was transported and lodged at the Lincoln County Jail for Assault I and Reckless Endangering with a total bail of $250,000.
Both the victim and Mr. Sheets are believed to be long term residents of the Yaquina Bay Motel.
Due to the severity of the victim’s injuries he was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis for a higher level of treatment.  Additional charges are pending, anyone with information on the assault is asked to contact the Toledo Police Department at 541-336-5555.
