Man Found Guilty of Burglary From Auto Body Shop

On September 16, 2021, Abraham Lincoln Bonney was convicted by a Lincoln County jury for the charges of Burglary in the Second Degree and Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree. The convictions were the result of an incident that occurred at an auto body shop in Lincoln County on Anderson Creek Road in 2018. Bonney was a former employee who lived in a house on the same property as the body shop. He had been terminated from the body shop prior to March 4, 2018. On that date he broke into the body shop and took nearly $20,000 worth of tools and electronics.

Deputy Maleri Cates investigated the case, and through the execution of search warrants, was able to locate around $11,000 worth of tools that were returned to the victim. According to the Lincoln County District Attorney's Office although the crimes took place in 2018, trial was delayed due to multiple circumstances including a full court docket, changing defense attorneys, and COVID. Bonney will be sentenced on November 12, 2021. The case was tried by DDA Kenneth Park. The DA's Office thanked the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office and the Lebanon Police Department for their joint investigation in this case.
