Man Hits Local Business With His SUV And Tries To Flee

On 08/25/21 at approximately just before 9 am, Oregon State Police assisted Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputies and Newport Police Officers with the location and detainment of a hit and run driver. The suspect, later identified as 34-year old Kevin J. Wyble of Grapeview Washington, was reported to have driven into the side of a local business twice before running into the business and then fleeing the area northbound on hwy-101. Oregon State Police observed the black Chevy Tahoe in Depoe Bay. Upon initiation of a traffic stop, Wyble exited the Tahoe and ran on foot northbound, attempting to gain entrance into a parked travel trailer, before being detained. He was eventually transported back to Newport by Sheriff's Deputies, cited and released for hit and run with property damage, and taken to Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital for evaluation. The Tahoe was secured on scene.
