With the 2024 legislative session now adjourned, over $38 million in funding was allocated for projects and services to support residents of House District 10 (Lincoln and western Benton and Lane counties) to help build more homes, improve critical infrastructure, expand and support treatment courts, and support behavioral health services to combat addiction.
“Every community deserves the resources and investment they need to thrive,” said Rep. David Gomberg (D-Otis). “My communities need housing. We need infrastructure. And we need the tools to tackle addiction. This funding will be absolutely transformative for House District 10. The work my colleagues and I were able to accomplish this session was remarkable, and it simply couldn’t have been done without our legislature working together in a bipartisan, people-centered fashion.”
Funding that will support House District 10 this legislative session includes:
$3.5 million to Lincoln County Health and Human Services Department to support the Lighthouse Village Apartments Mental Health Housing project.
$1.3 million to support the Lincoln County Residential Substance Use Disorder Treatment Facility (STARS) in Newport.
$2.5 million to Benton County for housing units as part of the county’s coordinated
response to housing and homelessness.
$17.1 million to support and expand treatment courts across Oregon, including in Benton, Lane, and Lincoln Counties.
$5 million to Benton County Health Department Behavioral Health Division to relocate Children and Family Services.
$640,000 to the City of Toledo for water, sewer and stormwater infrastructure improvements, as well as a traffic study and road improvements along Sturdevant Road to support a new apartment complex.
$1.9 million to the City of Florence for water, sewer and wastewater infrastructure for four blocks of city-owned property to be developed.
$3 million to the City of Lincoln City for a booster pump station for Spring Lake housing development.
$3 million to the City of Siletz for wastewater treatment plant upgrades.
$1 million for the Well Abandonment, Repair and Replacement Fund to provide financial assistance to Oregonians with wells impacted by wildfire or drought.
Alongside securing key housing and behavioral health investments, Rep. Gomberg also worked to pass legislation this session to improve Oregon’s popular Marine Reserves program and provide tax relief for wildfire survivors. The 2024 legislative session adjourned on March 7.
