More Donations Needed For Salvation Army Red Kettles

The days are counting down for The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign in 2019. To-date, they have raised $20,248.14 of their $45,000.00 goal. Donors are encouraged to give end-of-year gifts to any Red Kettle that are located at Toledo JC Market, Newport Chalet Restaurant, Newport Fred Meyer, Newport Walmart and Lincoln City Safeway. The last day to donate at a Red Kettle is Tuesday, December 24th. In person donations can be dropped off or mailed to their office year-round at 140 NE 4th Street, Newport, OR 97365. Donations can also be given online at www.newport.salvationarmy.org.

The iconic Red Kettles have been a staple in Lincoln County for over 25 years and is The Salvation Army’s main source of annual fundraising. All donations stay in Lincoln County to be used through their Family Services program, after school arts program, summer camp programs and senior programs that are provided in our community. In 2019, The Salvation Army of Lincoln County has provided 7,248 free articles of clothing, 1,224 free hygiene kits, 669 jackets and coats and has assisted 37 people with rental assistance and 49 people with utility assistance.

During the 2018 Christmas Season, The Salvation Army of Lincoln County provided 1,558 toys and 516 coats to local children in need. All questions can be directed to Lieutenants Nathan & Corrin Perry, Commanding Officers, at (541) 265-6814 or in person at 140 NE 4th Street, Newport, OR 97365.
