Each year, our community comes together to celebrate Recovery Month by sharing resources and connecting with others. This year, Recovery Month will look a little more familiar than the virtual events of the last two years. Please join Lincoln County community members in celebrating recovery at the upcoming “Hands Across the Bridge” event on Saturday, September 17, 2022. The event will be held at 11:30am, meeting first at the Alsea Bay Bridge Interpretive Center: 620 NW Spring St Parking Lot, Waldport, OR.
From 12:30am-2:30pm the celebration will continue with a BBQ at the Waldport Community Center: 265 NW Hemlock St, Waldport, OR. All are invited to join fellow community members living in recovery, supporting those in recovery, and everything in between. For years, September has brought people of all backgrounds together to celebrate recovery and “wellbriety” - a term coming from the White Bison movement which promotes living sober and well.
Every September, communities around the nation hold community events for the public
to come together, explore resources, and share their stories. Gatherings like the local
Hands Across the Bridge event remind the community that addiction and mental health
disorders can happen to anyone, and that recovery is possible. A full list of events throughout the month can be found on the event calendar: National Recovery Month | Lincoln County Oregon. September 17 there will also be an outdoor prescription drug take-back in Waldport.
Join us in celebrating recovery this September and throughout the year. Use
#LincolnRecovers on social media to share resources, encouragement, and break the
stigma of addiction and mental health disorders.
