On Monday, Sept. 30, SW Angle St. will be closed between US 101 and SW 9th St., and US 101 will narrow to one lane on the northbound side only between SW Hurbert St. and SW 2nd St. due to road work. Weather permitting, this work is expected to be completed in one day. Pedestrians will be able to utilize the crosswalk at SW 9th St. to cross SW Angle St.
Also beginning Sept. 30, and lasting through Wednesday, Oct. 2, Newport Public Works crews will perform storm line maintenance on NE Eads St. between NE 8th St. and NE 11th St. To avoid congestion during high-traffic times, crews will begin work each day after school has begun and finish prior to the release of students each day. The road and walkways will remain open to vehicle, bicycle and pedestrian traffic.
Public may experience traffic delays in these areas during the work times. The city encourages the public to use alternate routes whenever possible and to use caution when transiting into and around work zones.
