On the evening of December 6, 2019, Oregon State Police trooper Eric Larson responded to a single vehicle, non-injury, rollover traffic crash on Hwy 20 near Mile 31. The crash investigation found a green Subaru Station Wagon left the roadway for unknown reasons and struck a tree, causing the car to rollover on its top. The occupants were not injured as a result of the crash but were transported by personal vehicle to Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital in Newport to be evaluated. The driver, identified as 19-year old Roberto M. Espinosa-Hughes of Toledo reported to have lost control and began swerving prior to the crash. He was issued a citation for Driving Uninsured.
