Single Car Crash Claims Corvallis Woman's Life

On Monday, March 10, 2025, at 4:41 p.m., Oregon State Police responded to a single vehicle crash on Highway 34, near milepost 27, east of Waldport. The preliminary investigation indicated an eastbound Honda Civic, operated by 42-year old Brandy Amber Damm-Winningham of Corvallis, lost control, left the roadway and rolled approximately 300 feet down a steep embankment.
Winningham was ejected from the vehicle during the roll event. OSP investigation showed she was not believed to be wearing a seatbelt, and was declared deceased at the scene.
A passenger in the Honda, 62-year old Becky Jean Damm of Corvallis, suffered reported minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital. The highway was impacted for approximately four hours during the on-scene investigation. OSP was assisted by the Benton County Sheriff's Office, Alsea Fire Department, Central Lincoln Fire Department, and Yachats Fire Department.
