On 7/12 state Police Trooper Kolacz responded to a report that a pedestrian had been struck by a car in Depoe Bay. His investigation showed vehicles were stopped at a crosswalk in Depoe Bay when a black Toyota drove past the stopped vehicles without yielding to a crossing pedestrian. The 16-year old pedestrian was struck by the Toyota on the front right corner. The pedestrian was transported to Samaritan Pacific Communities hospital with moderate injuries. The driver of the Toyota a 17-year old from Vancouver Washington was issued a citation. There were three other teens in the Toyota with the driver.
On 7/10/23 56-year old Christina L. Savattere was transported to the Lincoln County jail and lodged as a fugitive from justice from another state. This occurred after the car she was driving was stopped for expired registration and a records check revealed an extraditable warrant out of Montana for dangerous drugs.
On 7/13/23 State Police Trooper Kolacz did a welfare check after receiveing calls of a man lying on the ground near milepost 4 on highway 18. The male, identified as 36-year old Richard D. Currin of Bend decided to get transported to Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital in Lincoln City but refused care upon arrival. Trooper Kolacz found Currin had several warrants for his arrest for probation violation, unauthorized use of motor vehichle and burglary. He was transported and lodged at the Lincoln County Jail.
