Three Portland Teens Arrested For Robbery In Newport

On Friday, August 15^th, 2025, at around 6pm Newport Officers responded to a parking lot on SW Bay Blvd on a report of an armed robbery that had just occurred. Officers learned the victim was in the parking lot when he was approached by a Honda CRV occupied by four males wearing masks. One of the males in the car displayed a firearm, pointed it at the victim, and ordered the him to get in the car. The victim entered the car and found the other males inside were also wearing masks and displayed firearms to the victim. The suspects ordered the victim to give them all of his money. He complied and gave them a large sum of cash then was able to exit the car and took a picture as it drove away.

Officers searched for the car but were not able to locate it at that time. A little over an hour later, the suspect Honda CRV was located by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office on Philomath Blvd in Corvallis. Benton County Deputies contacted and detained three suspects who were in the car. Newport Officers responded to Corvallis and completed a search warrant for the car and suspects. Officers recovered evidence of the crime of robbery, including clothing, weapons, along with the victim’s stolen money.

The suspects, all three from Portland identified as 18-year old Jonathan O. Duran, Manuel Felipe, and Miguel I. Sosa were arrested and lodged at the Lincoln County Jail for Robbery in the First Degree, Theft in the First Degree, Unlawful Use of Weapon, Coercion and Menacing. The fourth suspect is still at large and the incident remains under investigation.
