Toledo Man Arrested For Child Sexual Abuse Material

On Sunday April 19th, 2026 an individual contacted the Toledo Police Department with information concerning a Toledo resident, Elton Don Hostler, being in possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). Through investigation officers developed probable cause to believe Mr. Hostler was in possession of CSAM. A portion of the CSAM appeared to be from internet sources, but also included CSAM videos involving local child victims.

As officers began preparing search warrants on Mr. Hostler’s residence, a Toledo officer observed Mr. Hostler leaving his residence and took him into custody without incident.

Mr. Hostler was transported to the Lincoln County Jail where he was lodged on the charges of Using a Child in Display of Sexually Explicit Conduct X 2 and 1st Degree Possession of Materials Depicting Sexually Explicit Conduct of a Child.

The local child victims have been identified and parents have been notified. At this time there is no direct evidence relating to unidentified local child victims, although the investigation is ongoing. If you have additional information related to this case or are a guardian with concerns of your child’s previous contacts with Mr. Hostler please contact Det. Shinholster (Dalynn.Shinholster@cityoftoledo.org) or by phone at 541-336-5555.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
